Given the confinement we are going through due to the Covid-19 pandemic, more companies are joining in to completely turn around their business model to improve remote work activities.
Of course, large companies have been able to deal with various crisis situations. Each of these have been previously analyzed, and for this there was a protocol on what to do in case such a scenario occurs. However, a pandemic and what actions to take in the face of it were probably not foreseen in any crisis plan.
79% of executives have indicated that their companies have undergone a business model change, according to the 2020 Dell Technologies Digital Transformation Index, with remote work being the main implementation.
Likewise, according to research by the company Dell Technologies, around 89% of executives will strengthen their digital business in the coming years if their companies face this pandemic situation with good results.
Therefore, today we will see four main factors that must be taken into account for remote work in companies.
1. Participation and shared mission
Remote work has brought with it new challenges for collaborators, since the way of communicating and carrying out work actions is different from face-to-face work.
2. Immediacy in the team
This factor has always been a requirement requested by every company. But in this situation of confinement, it is much more demanding to have the capacity of immediacy to fulfill functions by collaborators.
To achieve this, appropriate methodologies must be used for a workplace. For example, "scrum", this method has among its objectives: the speed of collaborators. It is a joint project with all members of the company to increase the value of productivity, sales, immediacy, among other goals set by the team.
In addition, it is important that, as it is a virtual job, due dates can be established on some pending or project, this will help them to be fulfilled without the mistake of postponing them.
3. Risk Plan
When the spread of Covid-19 began, there was no risk plan planned to solve it. Not even the big companies took precedence over this situation.
That is why today many companies have decided to be more specific in terms of evaluating all types of risk or crisis that are encountered. Taking as an action: place a single person in charge of carrying out contingency measures if the company experiences a negative situation.
This evaluation must be constant and, above all, there must be one person for each area, that is, if there are eight areas in a company, each of them must have a specialist to ensure a respective risk plan.
4. Adaptability
Now more than ever, companies take this factor as a transcendental one. Well, although it is true, previously, this was already required, today it is more accentuated, taking into account that we are facing a digital age and work demands it.
It is known that a collaborator with this ability will be able to stand out from another during remote work. And probably this business model will continue, so it is expected that from now on all applicants can take adaptability as a main aspect for work.
These have been some factors that we can achieve after the context that we live on a new business model with remote work in an organization.
Remember that, today, digitization and new technologies are increasingly essential in organizations.
